Thigh and
Buttock Lift.
As we age, many of us experience a loss
of skin elasticity in the thigh, hip, or buttock areas. This can be compounded by genetics
or weight loss, often resulting in skin that appears flabby and dimpled. For many people,
this results in lost self-esteem and increased self-consciousness, and often makes
shopping for clothes, wearing a bathing suit, or even wearing shorts an unpleasant
experience.
A thigh and buttock lift can remove
excess, sagging skin from these areas and dramatically reduce the orange-peel effect of
dimpled skin to provide a more youthful and streamlined contour in harmony with the rest
of your body proportions. If desired, the procedure can be combined with liposuction or
other body contouring procedures.
Frequently Asked
Questions:
What are the goals of the
procedure?
To recontour excess, sagging, or
dimpled skin of the thighs and buttocks where such areas are resistant to dieting and
exercise.
How long will the surgery take?
Depending on the extent and areas
affected, thigh and buttock procedures can take from 1-5 hours.
What can I expect after
surgery?
You will have gauze dressings on your
incision sites and you will need to wear a specially designed compression garment. You may
experience a moderate amount of swelling, bruising, and discomfort for the first 7-10
days. Your sutures will be removed in 7-10 days. You will wear the surgical garment 24
hours a day for 3 weeks and 12 hours a day for an additional 3 weeks. Final recontouring
of the surgically reduced areas may take 4-6 months. Most patients can resume even
strenuous activities within 6 weeks.
When can I return to work?
Depending on the areas treated, you may
return to work with 10-14 days after surgery.
