| Skin Care. A smooth, clear complexion is
one of the key attributes of physical attractiveness. But as we grow older, keeping the
glow of healthy skin grows harder. As the face is exposed to the sun, wind, and other
environmental factors, the vulnerable skin is damaged. Acne, rashes, allergic reactions,
and injuries can all effect the skin, leaving permanent scars.
If you want to eliminate
or reduce the appearance of imperfections on your facial skin, there are several
nonsurgical treatments available through our office. These include Retin-Aź, a cream that
changes the cellular metabolism of the skin's surface, and various mild preparations of
glycolic or natural fruit substances blended into facial preparations. Nonsurgical
skin treatments can be used to fight the blotches and fine facial wrinkles caused by aging
and the effects of the sun, as well as to eliminate rough or dried surface skin that makes
your face appear older and less healthy. Often, these skin care regimens cost less than
the price of solutions offered by cosmetic manufacturers.
These skin
care regimens can be used alone or in conjunction with more profound techniques such as
chemical peels, dermabrasion, or laser skin resurfacing, as appropriate. Please contact us for more information about skin care options.
Profound
Techniques:
Chemical
Peel
A chemical peel can minimize the appearance of facial blemishes, wrinkles, or uneven skin
pigmentation. Offered in three different formulations, the procedure will vary in
intensity based upon your specific goals.
Dermabrasion
Dermabrasion can resurface the top layers of your skin through a method of controlled
surgical scraping. The procedure can soften the edges of surface scars, wrinkles, and
irregularities, giving your skin a smoother or more youthful appearance.
Laser Skin Rejuvenation
Laser skin resurfacing can remove areas of damaged or wrinkled skin, layer by layer, to
minimize the appearance of fine lines, especially around your mouth and eyes. It can also
remove or reduce the appearance of facial scars or areas of uneven pigmentation.
