| Dr. David J.
Ettinger. Dr. David Ettinger was born and
raised in the Northeast. He graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo
Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology. He was one of 40 New York State
students chosen to attend the Sackler School of Medicine in Tel Aviv, Israel. He completed
medical school in 1981 and returned to Buffalo for his residency which consisted of 3
years general surgery and 2 years of plastic surgery. During his last year of Plastic
Surgery residency, he was honored by being selected as Chief Resident.
Practice.
After
establishing his first office in Orlando, Florida, Dr. Ettinger practiced for four years
before moving to Iowa to join the prestigious Midwest Plastic Surgery Center. While in
Iowa, he served as Director of the Plastic Surgery Residency Program at the University of
Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences in Des Moines. He also developed a special
interest in hand surgery during this time.
In 1993,
Dr. Ettinger was given the opportunity to become the first and only plastic surgeon in
Greene County, and he opened his current practice in Beavercreek, Ohio. He has been a
member of the Greene County Medical Society for 6 years. He served as Head of the
Department of Surgery at Greene Memorial Hospital from 1996-1998. He has also served on
various hospital committees. He is currently serving as President of Medical Service
Associates, the multi-specialty group he to which he belongs.
Affiliations.
Dr.
Ettinger was eligible to sit for his Plastic Surgery Boards in 1990. He passed and is a
member in good standing with the American Board of Plastic Surgery. As a Board Certified
Plastic Surgeon, he has been an active member of the American Society of Plastic and
Reconstructive Surgeons since 1990. Through ASPRS he has also been involved with the
Plastic Surgery Educational Foundation.
Dr.
Ettinger continues to advance his surgical knowledge and skills by attending various
cosmetic and reconstructive educational seminars.
Personal.
Currently,
Dr. Ettinger resides in Greene County with his wife, Barbara, and their 3 children. He
enjoys being involved in his children's activities. He coaches, referees, and spectates,
whatever is needed. He and his wife enjoy hiking, whitewater rafting, golf, and travel. |
